Artist Betye Saar was honored at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art鈥檚 ninth annual Art + Film gala, alongside director Alfonso Cuar贸n, the Los Angeles Times . Saar鈥檚 works on paper from the 1980s are archived in the Ruth Chandler Williamson Collection at 麻豆影音, where her daughter, fellow artist and Scripps alumna Alison Saar 鈥�78, has previously exhibited her work. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really wonderful to be able to live your life doing what you love to do,鈥� Saar said in her gala speech. 鈥淎nd that鈥檚 what art is to me.鈥�
